History
Founded in fall 2006, at Touro University California, with the objective of educating and helping the underserved Vallejo community
Service
We are an independent, student-initiated organization actively involved in providing service to the community. The club strives to promote healthy lifestyle choices and provide education on important public health issues.
The Public Health Club is part of the #ProtectOurPatients Coalition at TU, which supports legislation and policies that ensure accessibility, affordability, and quality of health care to all Californians, especially vulnerable and marginalized communities.
Who Is Involved
We are recognized by the Student Government Association and the University and are comprised of students from the colleges of Health Sciences, Osteopathic Medicine, and Pharmacy.

Vallejo City Unified School District
The establishment of a partnership in 2006 with the Vallejo City Unified School District to create and develop the Nutrition & Exercise Unified (TUNE-UP) Program, an after school program, in which club members work with students from Mare Island Elementary School to taught and promoted healthy eating and physical activity.
Vallejo Farmer's Market
Regularly attended the Vallejo Farmer’s Market each weekend to obtain fruit at low cost to distribute to the elementary students in the TUNE-UP Program and provided and routine screenings and health education to patrons of the market.

All are welcome! Join us in welcoming our two new board members, Kara Lugtu and Brie Reed. We'll be focusing on heart health and health promotion during the meeting. We look forward to seeing you all there!
